Akshay Soni
Akshay Soni’s professional journey is one of purpose evolving through curiosity. After beginning his career at UTI as a fund manager and spending 17 successful years as a research analyst with Morgan Stanley—covering sectors ranging from IT Services and Infrastructure to Real Estate and Capital Goods—he chose to take an unconventional turn. What began as a break from investment banking soon became a calling towards social impact - and evolved into leading the Eco-system Initiatives at The/Nudge Institute.
Over seven years, he helped shape some of India’s most innovative initiatives in the development sector—conceptualizing and running India’s first nonprofit accelerator, enabling over a hundred social entrepreneurs, sparking the Indian Administrative Fellowship to strengthen public systems, and leading the backbone for India’s first collective impact initiative to uplift the lives of informal waste pickers in Bangalore. His work reflects a rare blend of analytical depth, creative experimentation, and deep empathy for communities striving for dignity and opportunity.
At the foundation, Akshay brings his experience in building ecosystems and enabling sustainable change to help scale its mission. His understanding of how purpose-driven institutions can balance vision with execution strengthens the foundation’s commitment to empowering single mothers through resilience, opportunity, and collective action.

"Uplifting single mothers creates a powerful trifecta of impact — driving gender equity, strengthening communities, and inspiring generational progress."
